Endodontic retreatment
Endodontics is a root canal microsurgery performed to prevent an infection inside a tooth from spreading through the canal toward the root and the surrounding bone tissue. In order to stop the advancement of such a process, it is necessary to detect each root canal within a tooth a fill it entirely with material.
A tooth which suffers from a pulp (tooth nerve) infection caused by caries or dental trauma needs an endodontic (“root canal”) treatment.
If a new inflammation close to the root had developed after the initial treatment, the procedure needs to be followed up by an endodontic retreatment.
An improperly treated tooth mustn’t be subjected to further therapy as it is highly likely to become inflamed.
The procedure itself is performed under local anesthesia, making it completely painless. In 4Smile Dental Center, endodontic treatment is conducted in a single visit. This is the best solution for preventing the inflammation from spreading.
